About the Photographer

Thank you for your interest in Jeffrey Simon Photography. I’d like to tell you a little about myself, my love of photography, my business and how I strive to exceed the needs and expectations of my clients. I discovered my love of photography in 1970 at the age of 8 when I was taken under the tutelage of Mr. T. Patterson, who is well known in the Northeast Portland community. I attended Benson Polytechnic High School in Portland Oregon where I further developed my skills, studying Electronics and Photography under Professor Small. I obtained my post-secondary education and Electronics Engineering Degree from DeVry Institute of Technology in Phoenix Arizona, later taking classes at Portland Community College and University of Phoenix in Portland, working toward a degree in Business Management.

After returning to Oregon in 1986, I was encouraged to start Jeffrey Simon Photography, and since that time have proudly served the states of Oregon and Washington with a strong focus in the Portland metro area and suburbs, as well as traveling nationally and internationally to meet the needs of my clients.

I believe in fostering an atmosphere of respect and courtesy with businesses, friends and my clients. By association with professional photographic organizations, as well as local groups, clubs and churches, I have a large pool of references that highly recommend my services. My number one goal is to provide the best service possible at affordable prices.

What do I Photograph? I specialize in wedding photography, but have years of experience in many areas. These include Family, Senior, and Children’s Portrait Photography, Group, Commercial and Special Occasion Photography, Glamour, Boudoir and Fashion Portraits, and Portfolios. I do special requests as well as Freelance and Commercial. All services can be provided in the location of your choice using the latest technology. My photographic philosophy is: “You are the star of the show and I am here to help you shine”. With experience that comes from photographing hundreds of weddings and events, I know the day of your big event can be hectic. I take personal pride in providing a calm, helpful hand when most needed. I have pinned flowers, hushed crying babies and even helped a bride or two with her dress! It is not uncommon for me to assist in the kitchen, with the clean up or in any way that I can to make your day perfect.

Being a part of someone’s special day is not just a job to me, it is a gift. I witness emotions we all share and strive to capture each special moment with not only my camera, but also with my heart. The kiss, the expression of the bride coming down the aisle, the look on a grandparent's face, the groom looking at his bride for the first time, the joined hands cutting the cake, or a candid shot of a friend are memories that cannot be missed. Using traditional and photojournalistic styles I take each wedding and event personally.
